Biography of MILLICENT REDWAY

Millicent Redway-Douglas

A pioneer of the multicultural marketing industry in Canada, Millicent Redway is a successful entrepreneur with a proven record of accomplishment in social marketing and fundraising and have a wealth of experience in the multicultural publishing and marketing industries. She co-founded Black Pages Canada, a publishing and marketing company which became renowned for its reputation as a trailblazer in the Multicultural/Ethnic Marketing industry which was sold to a multinational. The holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, she has developed and produced several watershed events including Black Expo Canada, Expo International, Minority Youth in Business Symposium and Ethnic Women in Business Conference. She has also designed and implemented several first-of-a-kind programs for young people including Youth Self Employment Project, Ethnic Youth Expo, and Youth Pages. Under her leadership, the company also published several titles including “Black Pages Directory,” “Jump” and “Business Connections” magazines and a number of studies on black business and black consumers in Canada.

Ms Redway  was recently contracted by Dr. Roz Healing Place  to develop and plan across country campaign to build awareness for women and children who are affected by violence. She also spearheaded a campaign to launch a capital fund to build The Changa House  National Youth Centre that will provide long-term programming for Canadian youth and youth-at-risk. Ms Redway also contracted by The Olive Branch of Hope to design and  implement a two day conference titled One Dream-One Hope-Many Colours geared towards women of colour and their families who have been affected with breast cancer. The Office of the Fairness Commissioner engaged her to develop and plan an Open House geared towards Regulatory Bodies. She was also the Planner for the York Region branch of the Ontario Medical Association Gala “Celebrating Our Women in Medicine”.



Ms. Redway is presently President of Jump Promotions International, a strategic management and marketing, communications, product promotions, and event management company. She does volunteer work with several community organizations including Toronto Public Library Foundation-Corporate Committee, United Way of York Region Community Review Panel and Black Business & Professionals Association where she was a Director at large for Business and Professional. She is also a member of Maytree Foundation DiverseCity onBoards, DiverseCity Voices and updates her knowledge regularly by being a part of Maytree Leadership Network.
